Anna and Parker’s wedding felt less like an event guests attended and more like a world they were welcomed into
There is something distinct about a wedding weekend on San Juan Island. People arrive differently. They settle in. The pace softens. Anna and Parker’s wedding made the most of that from the start. It felt elegant and expansive, but never distant. The entire weekend had a sense of ease to it that suited both the setting and the people gathered there.
Roche Harbor is especially well suited to that kind of celebration. With its gardens, waterfront, historic buildings, and layered spaces, it offers more than a beautiful backdrop. It allows a wedding to unfold gradually, giving guests time to feel fully part of the experience rather than simply moving through it. That was very much the feeling of Anna and Parker’s day.
From the rehearsal dinner the night before to the ceremony in the Sunken Garden, cocktail hour, dinner, toasts, sunset portraits by the docks, and a bubble sendoff at the end of the night, the entire celebration felt thoughtfully paced. Even with a large wedding party, family involvement throughout the day, and multiple settings across the property, nothing felt hurried. The day had structure, but it also had room.
They were supported by an amazing vendor team. Grace Davis of Smiling Rose Planning & Production led the planning, Roche Harbor Resort handled the venue, bar, and catering, Troy, a family friend, officiated the ceremony, Chris Graves DJ'd an epic party, Erin of Camas Designs designed the florals, Felicitations created the cake and desserts, AM Beauty handled hair and makeup, Perfect Press created the paper goods, and Slavus Wedding Lights brought in additional lighting. Together, it all came together in a way that felt polished and welcoming.
What stayed with me most was the atmosphere of the weekend as a whole. It did not feel like a wedding placed onto a location. It felt shaped by where it was. Roche Harbor gave Anna and Parker a setting that was scenic and refined, but also warm enough to hold a weekend that felt personal, social, and fully lived in.
